What was your first Villa game?

November 1980, at home to Leeds. We drew 1-1 with Gary Shaw scoring for Villa. My Dad knew Harry Kartz and he arranged the tickets for us. Little did I know back on that day that the same squad would go on and win the league and European Cup in successive seasons. I remember from that season, being at the last home game against Middlesbrough. I was with my sister in Witton Lane. It was an awful late April day, cold, rain, sleet etc, but word somehow went round that Ipswich were losing. Villa were 3-0 up at the time and would have meant they would have won the league at home. The atmosphere was incredible.

What was your first Villa kit?

I think it must have been the Mita Copiers sponsored shirt of the 1983/4 season. I was also stupid enough to buy the yellow away shirt with the claret embossed badge that we wore in 1993.

Where do you sit at Villa Park?

Holte Lower L5 near the back of the lower tier behind the goal. A few of us from Leamington have got seat next to each other

Who is your all-time Villa hero?

Paul McGrath – if ever a player could read a game it was Macca. His dodgy knees meant he used his brain and positional sense to defend.

What trophy would you most like to see Villa win?

The FA Cup. It is the Holy Grail. I could say the Premiership but in the current footballing climate you have to be realistic.

What is your favourite away ground?

The Emirates. Fantastic set up and facilities, the seats are wide enough for two people, although as usual with Villa away support they never get used !!. I've also been to some dodgy ones – Tranmere, Swindon, to name but two.

What is your favourite shirt number?

11 – probably because that was my number at school many years ago.

What was your proudest Villa day?

Got to be the European Cup – I was only 13, so to go to school, the next day as proud as anything. Strangely enough all of the kids in the playground were either With, Shaw, Morley or Cowans. Also the Coca-Cola Cup win over Man Utd was a proud day, especially as the so called experts didn't give Big Ron's team a chance.

What would your ideal away kit colour combination be?

White shirt, blue shorts and claret socks.

If you won the Euro lottery…..?

I'd treat our regular members of Leamington & Warwick Lions Club, the ones who turn up and use the coach week in and week out, not just ones who "use" the Supporters Club for their benefit not the Club. Perhaps buy Catteralls a new coach to use for the Supporters Club, as Paul Catterall always tries to do the best for our club, and just general give the lads a good Villa time!
