I also fear we don't have any money. I think the Chairman's first love is his other team ( What is it? baseball or something silly like that)and in these times of cutbacks, it's Villa ( just like the average, ordinary voter) who will pay the price. Sorry, must keep politics out of it.

And if the Chairman is operating a sell-to-buy policy, then so much for his dream of bringing glory back to the Villa.

I agree fully with everything you have put here.

Sorry Karen, I completely disagree. There is no evidence whatsoever to back those claims up, in fact, quite the contrary.
I found a way to make you smile

The chairman has money but he obviosuly does not want to keep pumping it in to transfer with no rewards

Randy Lerner also owns the Cleveland Browns, an American football team. It is painfully obvious from this side of the pond that Mr. Lerner is investing far more in Villa's future than the Browns. Ask anyone in Cleveland. :-)

I agree Ann to a degree but He will not invest as heavily this season as he had done previously not without sales he needs t see a return of investment

Hi

It worries me that Villa sold Gareth Barry last year and it looks as if we are selling James Milner this year. It won't be too bad a deal if we get Steven Ireland and £18 million EXCEPT it's the principle. If Villa are to again compete at the highest level, aiming for Champions League, maybe winning the Premiership, winning a trophy or two, then we cannot keep selling our best players.

I read somewhere that MON was very close to walking over this (and I wouldn't blame him).

I know money is difficult - in football as well as in real life - but I can't help feeling disappointed. We were led to believe that Randy Lerner wanted the very best for Villa.
I'm not saying he doesn't, I'm just worried that he can't actually do it. But much more than that, it annoys me that super rich clubs can 'steal' our top players but it annoys me even more that we let them.

Karen,

There is no point keeping a player (Milner) when he doesnt want to stay and play for the club. Its not like we can't replace him. If we do get Steven Ireland plus the £18-27mil thats been rumoured i see it as we will get the best deal. we may lose one of our best players but we gain someone that can be just as good a job in the central role and money to get the much needed strickers and other players we need to strengthen our squad so we can challenge for 4th maybe more and throphys we so need to show Villa are still a Big Club!

Milner will regret moving to ManChitty when he spends most of the time sat on the bench because Barry, Silva, Yaya Toure, Boatang (i know its spelt wrong) will be starting.

Ive read Once again in the Irish Sunday papers yesterday and it seems that All of our Transfer Deals depend on Stephen Ireland Taking a pay Cut to come to Villa. (Which he wont and we cant afford to Pay him his Man City Salary)
Why cant we Pay Steve his Cash ? (Your asking)

Well If we pay him his £70+ Grand a week then Carew, Heskey,Young, Dunne and Petrov get pay rises
Now James Milner wont Talk about a new Villa contract until December.
So MON has decided OK mate on your Bike
Which means Milner gose for £25 Million + Ireland

Then we get McGreedy for £10 Million (Cause he wants to come to Villa but Celtic wont cut their Price on him)
Which then gets us Robbie Keane for £15 Million (Should he decide he wants first team Football at Villa instead on Bench warming duties at Spurs)

I can see this Ireland deal not go through and that Milner will be gone in May as to MON.

So that is as it looks so far from what Ive read and heard through my Villa Source's

Now My Next Rant is Where is RANDY's Money gone
Surley if the Milner Ireland Deal dont go Through why cant we get the other Two Villa Targets Via his Cash Book

It is obvious to me He dose not have the Cash and This will end up in Tears
If we dont get any new signings this Season
Yes I am a MON advicate I do feel he is the right man in the Villa Camp For now.
I do feel that if we finnished below 5th this season MON will be gone.

Now lads I always say this so im not changing it this season
our challenge is the 40 points mark before Christmas and then see where we are in the League
Then We can go all out for the FA Cup. We need to WIN this one.
O.K Rant over.

Looks like I was right after all, guys, but I wish I'd been wrong.

If Arsenal can keep Fabregas when he wants to go, why shouldn't we keep Milner? Unless we're going to get the best deal - and possibly Ireland and £18 million would have been a better deal. But not if the £18 million is going in the Chairman's pocket.

I'm very worried about this season now.

I'm with you with that Karen. I'm not looking forwad to this season at all. I'm even contemplating send back my New Away top when i finally get it in Sept as i dont want to give Lerner anymore of my money.

I know its not the right way to react but i feel really down at the moment.

Also the thing is with Arsenal is that they are the only club in the premier league that actually makes a profit. They are run really well so they can afford to turn down big money offers as they dont need the cash.

£18m plus Ireland is a good deal for Milner. Look at Barry - how much would you pay to sign him back? Anywhere near what we sold him for?

I highly doubt the £18m would go in RAL's pocket. Perhaps it could go towards some of the huge interest free loan he made to the Villa?

Don't cry until you're hurt! The season hasn't started, the transfer window isn't closed, we're still in Europe...
