Carew keeps Heskey Out? 6 Months ago

Who else thinks Big John has done enough to convince O'Neill to start him in place of Heskey?
He just continues to pose the threat we don't see from Heskey and his first half goal should not have been ruled out. I'm not sure the two can play together either, both players need a nippier bloke playing alongside them so Delfouneso is surely a better option than playing two big 'slower' blokes up front.....

Agree 100% on both counts. Emile had so many chances to impress and he's rarely taken them. He is a squad player at best. Give Carew a good run Martin. He's bigger than me or you.

Absolutely agree with you. Pssst, see the kit behind me? That was taken the day before the Sunderland match on Saturday, September 28, 2008. Carew scored that day as well.

1ST of Heskey can't score to save his life!!!! Carew can score with his eyes closed!!!
2nd of Heskey has the pace of a dead Rhino!!! Carew has the pace of a Lion!!!!
That sums it up for me, Heskey needs to stay on the Bench cause Carew is on fire at the moment!!! And i rate him 100X better than Heskey too.

Heskey is not a 20 goal main striker that everyone wants him to be. He is crying out for a Michael Owen, Brian Little or Gary Shaw alongside him to take up all his lay offs or knock downs.
He brings a lot more to Villas game than we give him credit for - and I think sometimes he gets stick just cos hes Emile Heskey. The Cup final last week was a typical example of everyone bemoaning Heskey this that and the other, and in truth he was no worse than anyone else on the pitch - and arguably our best player.
I find it hard to defend Emile after the two one on one misses yesterday, but i doubt Gabby would of scored them either, but had Gabby missed it would of just been hard luck !!!!
Big John is great when hes interested - If he can stay " on Fire" then there is no one better!

Surely 3 goals deserves a run out & it was great to see the old Carew again bullying players scoring goals left right & center and stirring up the crowd ...carew in for sure
But if that fails what about `Gabby & the Fonz`(i know ..sounds like a 70's cop tv show or something) and yes it does have a nice ring to it? bags of pace energy can score goals and still alot of years left in the legs? But is it the future or will MoN go shopping for more?? thats is the real question

Carew should definatley play more than heskey, heskey did nothing yesterday apart from walk around the pitch and could even take on the goalie?
also i think that nathan delfouneso should get chances rather than heskey all the time, does anyone agreee??

I think we all must be missing something, because Emile has not had a good game for more weeks than I care to remember.
The miss at Reading sums up his form and on the flip side Carew is on fire, surely he must get a start alongside Gabby?
