Aston Villas official Supporters Clubs are doing more than their bit for good causes this season by raising money in any way that they can for their favourite charity. Bournemouth set the ball rolling with a 24hr darts marathon for ACORNS raising over £3500, closely followed by Studley and Redditch who went one further by raising £7000 by walking to Villa Park from Studley again the beneficiary was ACORNS. Just recently the lads from Pheasey Lions raised nearly £5000 walking to Villa Park, again the money taken in sponsorship will be given to ACORNS. Bromsgrove Lions have just made a calendar called Claret but not so Blue in aid of ACORNS and Help for Heroes, which is on sale now from Bromsgrove Lions Club direct. The totaliser on the right here shows the money so far raised by Lions Clubs and their members to their favourite charities. Let’s see if we can reach the target of £50,000 by helping in any way that you can think of to make a difference to the children of ACORNS with fragile lives or any charity that is your favourite. Yorkshire Lions are planning to walk from Sheffield to Villa Park some 80+ miles over 3 days, and Bournemouth are planning the formidable task of cycling into Villa Park from the South Coast on the final home game of the season against Blackburn. If there is anything you would like to do to help please get in touch with us so we can advertise your feat on the website. |
