"The Terrace Trophy was hugely popular in its day and we're delighted it has been revived," said Lions Club liaison officer Alan Perrins.
"The new trophy has been made in the Jewellery Quarter by Vaughtons, the company who produce FA Cup and league championship medals." The original Terrace Trophy was synonymous with Villa for two decades. The first winner was Nigel Sims in 1958, while Dennis Mortimer was the final recipient in 1977. Villa's 1982 European Cup winning captain is now the Lions Club patron.
The Aston Villa supporters Terrace Trophy has been revived and recomisioned with huge success thanks to voting by Lions Club members and Aston Villa fans around the world.
Previous Winners
James Milner won the initial re-introduced trophy in 2009-10 being an outright winner after some outstanding displays in the the famous Claret and Blue shirt including two trips to Wembley where James was exceptional. Although he has moved on now, Milner will always be remembered favourably by the Holte end.
Amazingly in the following seasons trophy Marc Albrighton simply could not be caught after taking five out of six monthly gongs at the beginning of the season!
